Nowadays, art and design practices have brought numerous disciplines together and have become an area where more contemporary and innovative expressions are used to create the structure of the characteristics of these disciplines. The aim of the program, within the context of this multi-disciplinary approach, is to gather “Art and Design” practices under a single roof and also train artists who are using additional techniques of art outside their own disciplines during the creative process, while specializing in one. Another and equally important aim of the program is to enable and encourage those artists to be active in academic studies using the relevant research methods and to contribute to the pertaining literature by producing written work as journal articles and books.
The program involves theoretical and practical studies in art and design within an interdisciplinary environment including areas such as graphic design, animation, music, film and industrial design. The mission is to provide a multi-focus education with an interdisciplinary approach, culminating in a major piece of work which encompasses several disciplines in art and design. Each student is expected to write a Master’s thesis on a selected topic and present a practical application pertaining to their major field of study.
The candidates need to have at least 65 points on YDS, or equivalent English language exam to apply to the program.
