A multidisciplinary approach is being followed in art and design practices in the contemporary period. This approach, under the umbrella term of “Art and Design,” involves drawing inspiration from other fields while specializing in one subject, and allows for the production of more up-to-date and diverse designs in works of art. In this context, a high-level education in theory and practice is provided to students with a rich program from different disciplines of art and design in our program.
This program is divided into four main research fields with elective courses. These fields are film studies, industrial design, visual arts and design, and music performance and theory. The program also aims to enable students to produce articles and similar written works in their own fields by using various research techniques in order to contribute to literature in the field of art and design. In order for the Master’s program to be completed successfully, students must write a dissertation on a topic they have determined in the field of Art and Design and/or submit a practical application work in the same direction.
The candidates need to have at least 65 points on YDS, or equivalent English language exam to apply to the program. The candidates are also expected to complete four years of undergraduate study and hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a Department in one of the following faculties: Faculty of Fine Arts, Faculty of Art and Design and Faculty of Communication or Conservatories and to be a graduate of Interior Architecture / Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Architecture bachelor’s degree program.
